+ 1 on the soft brush, toothbrush is what I was thinking too. The Pig Spit is great stuff also. Your HD dealer should have it.

I use a good engine degreaser to get the heavy crap off. Usually Greased Lightening (from Lowe's) mixed 50/50 w/water. Then I personally have always used good old Armor-All. That $hit works magic, really keeps the black parts black for the entire life of the engine. Plus it's way cheaper then S100, Pig Spit, or any of the other "specialty" products touted as being made just for the black parts. An old biker turned me on to the armor all trick when my Softail's engine was turning a dingy chocolate brown. Been using it ever since...

Bought some Pig Spit yesterday. Got caught in rain on the way home - so it's bike cleaning time. Spray it on leave it?

Hey LMmarine86, word from one of your neighbors, (Irmo SC)
"Bike Brite" works wonders, dilute w/ water for less ground in dirt & straight up for the real grimey areas.

PS: Forgot to mention after engine is nice & clean try S-100 engine brightener to make it all look like brand new!!
