Hey LMmarine86, word from one of your neighbors, (Irmo SC)
"Bike Brite" works wonders, dilute w/ water for less ground in dirt & straight up for the real grimey areas.
PS: Forgot to mention after engine is nice & clean try S-100 engine brightener to make it all look like brand new!!
Sweet thanks man. Irmo huh? We should ride sometime. You hear about M&M cycles closing and Gotham City Cycles taking over? Their grand opening party is aug 21st starting at 11. I'll be covering it for Carolina Chrome Magazine - you should come out.
50/50 Simple Green and Water. The Harley dealer in Ga said thats all they use in there shop when i bought my first Harley. And then either S100 or pig spit to get it nice and dark black again. When i was living in NC the Walmarts carriered another brand called pig snot, worked just as good as the spit and was cheaper. I can't find it here in Central La.
I use the S100 or Dawn dish soap with a bottle brush then rinse well then compressed air most of the water off then spray silicone spray all over the black areas not worrying about over spray a couple times as it soaks in. Then detail the rest on motor and bike it works fast, easy, cheap, and looks dang good!
Had a 99 that was no trouble to keep immaculate, my cross bones saw some weather before I got it, the cooked on gray dirt is resisting the S100, pig spit sounds like the way to go once this dog is clean, thinking simple green and maybe the shout or orange clean and let it set, work it with a brush, I found that you do need to go back over the aluminum after the S100, which is ok to do anyway, at least she brought home a trophy the other night. What's gonna get her black again? Thanks for what's already posted
Cold engine soap and water rinse let dry spray with Pig spit.
will look like new for many miles and years. HD or S100 engine brite is about the same but cost more for less.
