Default Definitely Not Stealth...

...but a sweet Wild West rig, Arizona style. Load 'er up with some Buffalo Bore 300 grain slugs with nothing but meplat...damn, I love that rig! Tell me that's not beautiful!

I know, it's on a softail. Maybe I'll go into business handcrafting rigs like this for RKCs with the basket weave and all...maybe change the HD Classic tank and seat logos to include crossed single actions. I can see it now: Road King Classic Solo Saddle with Integrated Basket Weave Holster and 110th Anniversary matched set of Harley Davidson Commemorative .44 mag or .454 single actions. I ya got hard bags, then it's .45 ACPs all the way!

Hey, then we can have suppressors to meet EPA restrictions for noise and emissions!

I have been thinking about this since I first saw the post but fortunately have since started a job and working away from home. Neither here nor there but as I am basically lazy given the opportunity I was wondering if a person could get away with using Gorilla glue as opposed to what OP did here. Anyone's thoughts???

Brilliantly thought out plan you've got there. Try it and let us know how you make out. Illegal discharge of a firearm will most assuredly get your right to carry revoked. And probably jeopardizes that right for more level headed people because it gets the anti-gun nuts all spun up. Unless you are in eminent danger of bodily harm, you don't discharge your weapon. Think... before you make foolish statements.

I will be building a similar set-up for my lil Glock 23. Great inspiration for this weekend.

Good advice but not the reason I reopened this thread. Please see above.

Used cardboard to cut a template which I then transferred to a sheet of aluminum. Used the saddlebag hinge mount and saddlebag mount as ahchor points. Bought an Uncle Mikes holster that can be set for tension and that had been held onto a pancake holser setup by 2 screws. Drilled the 4 holes for the saddlebag hinge bracket, 1 large hole that fits the outside diameter of the rubber grommet, and then drilled and countersunk the 2 holes for the holster. No holes were drilled in the saddlebag.

The Brukus Saddlebag Secure kit made it easy to secure the saddlebags as well as the contenets in my bags and minimizes any blockage to the grip of the pistol. It is of good quality, inexpensive, and does the job well.

I like the setup and thought I would share the info with the forum. You would have to check on the legalities for individual states.

Great effort. Just remember that it takes about 15 seconds to pop the lids open with a screwdriver, even if locked. The secure kit just means that the saddlebags won't fall off and that a thief will have a tougher time unscrewing them, but the lid is NOT secure, even if locked. I carry 24/7 too, and I often have wondered what to do when going to a place when weapons are not allowed and I have to lock it in the saddlebag. Its just not a secure place.

Regards,

As the devil's advocate here, but FXSTS-88's idea of a 'shot or two in the general area' is still a bad idea. Do you have any guarantee of where those rounds are headed and where they will stop? Often for such an action you will still be in more trouble than whoever you were attempting to scare off. This is not TV land, it is real life in the twenty-first century where the shooter is generally looked at with most suspicion..

I have to agree with ALCherry - here is a map.. if you live in a Blue or Yellow state - get a CCW and carry it with you...

http://www.handgunlaw.us/LicMaps/ccwmap.php

Hell, get a CCW from FL or UT (through the mail) and you can carry in over 30 states.. And anyone with a clean record can get a CCW from UT or FL - go to their web sites and check it out.

I live in ca and have a CCW for CA,UT,FL & NV. I am good to go in 42 states.

When I go inside a motel for the night my revolver goes with me.
In states where it is legal to open carry, I do so.
Have you ever timed how long it takes a cop to arrive at an attempted robbery scene?
A shot or two 'in the area' of a thief does a lot to discourage him from continuing his task!!
I will not stand idly by and watch some scumbag take what’s mine as long as I have the means to prevent it!!
I still have the right to protect what is mine.

I think you are arguing for the sake of an argument!!
I see you are from WI (one of the hardest gun law states) and one I am not lic to carry in.

I support your right to defend your property - however, if the time ever comes and someone is stealing your bike and you decide to fire off a few rounds in the bad guy direction AND you are lucky enough not to hit someone on the other side of the bad guy and the Cops don't find out you decided to let go a few rounds - then go right ahead. I know you would be pissed off and want to take care of the guy - I am going to take a wild guess here and choose to believe you would feel like **** if one of the rounds killed a kid in the house across the street. It’s your life and your choices - I know you are going to do what you want - just wanted give you my unsolicited thoughts.

Thanks for the idea!!

I have my CPL and carry on my person everyday. However. When I am on the road and want to stop for even A "drink" with a few buddys. I can no longer carry my weapon on me and it needs to be in a locked and secure location.

This a PERFECT idea for those of us who dont actually enjoy going to jail.
