Default powder coat / black out process

Hey,

I'm in the process of blacking out my Electra Glide Classic.

It started out as just swapping out the bars and now its a lot lot more.

I've got the everything at the powder coaters now except the light bar.

I took the trim rings off but didn't want to get in to pulling all the wiring out.

Anyone else powder-coat a light bar and lights. If so did you have to pull it all apart?

Does anyone offer a service that will just take the whole assembly, powder-coat it and send it back?

Yea you pretty much have to take it all apart because the powder coat gets baked on. anything not metal will melt

Ya, I knew it had to come apart but was hoping someone else could take it.

I don't want the bike down for more then it has to so I'll do the front and rear light housings over the winter.

The bars, grips, levers, and mirrors are already black but I had to extend and pull the wires through. I had to get new black pearl clutch, brake and throttle wires for the mini apes.

Right now she's sitting on the lift naked. The entire front end legs, cow bells, fairing parts, trim, and wheel has been pulled and sent out with the shifters, linkages, brake pedal, floor boards, horn cover, air cleaner, engine and saddlebag guards, grab rail, license plate frame, fender struts, covers, dash, fuel door, some other odds and ends

It should all be back together by the end of the week. It had better be

Pics will follow.
