Needless to say, I love to ride. In fact, last week someone pointed out, as I was getting on my ride, that it was "a perfect day to ride". My reply was that every day is perfect for riding, it's just that some are hotter, colder, wetter, dryer (and so on) than others.
Having said that, my wife (who does not like to ride nearly as much as I do) gets cold pretty easily. Now I know what you're saying: get her some leather, dummy. To complicate things, she's a vegetarian who will not even touch my leather. My question is, does anyone know of a company who sells quality riding gear that is of the non-dead animal persuasion?
well they are not chaps but north face windproof and waterproof outters shells work great... you just where what ya want under them and you will no be cold... you wont even feel the air.... i used the for riding the scoot in the winter at work..
Harley also makes non leather touring pants and jackets that are in fact warmer than leather. Ask your dealer to see the FXRG LINE and other nylon touring lines.
Non animal chaps - so, does your wife avoid all things made with any part of an animal?? I admire her for sticking to her standards but fossil fuels, make up, ect... animals are used in so many things....
I think it would be impossible to totally avoid dead animal stuff. She isn't so simple that she doesn't understand it's nearly impossible, and I don't bring it up. It's just that, given a choice, she doesn't deal with it.
I also admire her for her principles...but man, is it sometimes a pain in the a$$!!!
wife just looked over my shoulder and had this thought - what are you two sitting on when you ride???? {Leather}
Good luck man, I have one goal when it comes to my wife and riding {what ever it takes to make her comfy and happy} I have spent a fortune on heated gear and Corbin custom seats - but she is very happy to ride and wants to go all the time... so we both win in the long run...
Tell her that you have found a special leather shop that only deals in cows that had a {donor} card when they passed away.... ????
