Love the Metz WWW's, will try the E3's IF they ever make them in WWW's, but at this point they do not. Many on here like the Avon WWW and if I got a great deal over the Metzelers I would try them.
Avons may be as good or maybe better but I have run 2 sets of the Metzelers over the last few years and they are great handling tires. Yes good in rain which we have little of also but sticky in corners, do not follow road groves and feel stable on the road snakes. (IMHO)
I would rather have the 402's than 880's....880 are good grip tire but the don't last....Michelin Commanders are nice but i am not sure they have the WWW...Avon???
You can't have everything in a tyre! If you want high mileage at any cost, buy Dunlops. If you want a superior ride, with better comfort and grip, buy something else. My choice is Avons. Tyres cost pennies in the grand scheme of things, no matter which brand you buy. Enjoy some quality time while riding!

Also depends what kind of riding he will do??? twisties, highway...If he does high miles on the highway then i would say the 402's but if he will put only like 5000 miles a year on the bike then something grippier may be the ticket...If i only used 1 tires per year i wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm just a mellow cruiser, no knee dragging in the twisties. I just want to make sure myself and my girlfriend are safe and we have a comfortable ride. I am leaning more and more towards the Metzeler's for what I need.

I haven't heard much about the Avon's.
Thanks guys!!
You don't need to go knee draggin' to need top quality rubber! In my experience Avons will give you a superior ride for comfort stability and grip.
If you 'Search' on here for any tyre brand you will get swamped with old posts!
