Question for you Ape Hanger Tourers

I've been seeing quite a few tourers with Apes of all different shapes and sizes. So far I'm ok with my stock 09 SG bars. I've put in a few 3-4hr trips. My question is how are the Apes on the long haul. 6-8 Hour one way rides. Seems to me also that if you get caught in the rain, that all the water would run right down your arms and get you soaked. Thanks.

Mine are very comfortable. I found the middle of my upper back getting sore after long rides with the stock bars. When I ride with my backrest, the apes are even more comfortable. Got caught in a deluge last Monday. Really didn't notice it any more than normal but mine are't as high as some.

Stock bars hurt my back. I've done a couple 1500 mile trips with the 12.5 bagger apes from Wild1 and I LOVE 'EM!

I have 16's on my RK and they are perfect. They actually put my arms at a good location. I replaced the Heritage bars that come on the Police bikes. They were OK but they had no attitude.
