I'm guessing the wind buffetting with the 11" screen might be worse than no screen at all. Have you thought of trimming the stock shield a couple of inches?
+1. I got a custom 12" when i first got my bike and now it has at least 6 months of dust on it. all it does is deflect the wind directly into your eyes and helmet. glasses were dancing and helmet was pulling. it does keep it off the chest but not a good enough trade off for me.
Look at the Woody's fairings. It comes off in a minute and when it's on you have the full wind deflection of a batwing, and tunes if you order it that way.
Batwing not necessary if HD could make something that has hand guards like this...great for keeping winter chill of the mitts.
Wouldn't sink so low as to put a Rifle fairing on my beautiful Harley, but I guess Memphis shades has the right idea. I just wish someone made a "socially acceptable" clear Lexan shield for RKs that incorporate hand guards like this.
Wild Bill,
I'm looking at the Woodys. Does it really come off as fast as the stock windshield?

Now that is just plain ugly!!! But, I guess pretty is as pretty does.
I've got the Road King Custom with a tall fairing and hate it. Only used it once (too much glare). I've also been thinking of the 11" tinted. Is that the same one that is on the screamin eagle bike?

With the Woody's you replace the rubber grommets on the forks with stainless steel ones (included in the kit), then tighten the acorn nuts to snug it down. For removal you just loosen the nuts and unplug the power then re-tighten the nuts. Then I zip tie my power cable to the highway bar. It takes two minutes.
Once you ride with a batwing (and the tunes), you aren't likely to go naked very often.
