But sometimes preventative maintenance goes a long ways. Especially when your miles from home.

Harley fires both plugs every RPM, 2600-3200 times per min depending on how you run. A car fires 1 in 6 or 1 in 8 RPM. I think there is alot more stress on these plugs than comparing to a car or truck with the heat and no. of times fired. I'll change mine more often than 20K, usually twice a season, thank you very much.

I will bet anything some of you are creating a scenerio like this. Sorry but plugs dont need to be changed that much and platnium plugs in cars last 100k. So theres my $.02

I concur every 5k is a little much though I'm running a little less than 10k a year on my bike in which I have no problem spending 15 bucks a year for a new set of plugs. Too easy and cheap not to do.

So, another stupid question: what size socket is needed to remove the stock plugs for my '10 FLHTCU? 5/8", 11/16" or something else? Just curious.

TIA!

How bad can a plug get in 5K that a little sand can't clean? Dealer got to love that. When was the last time anyone really had an issue and it was a bad plug? Just saying
