Question 2010 SG Mods

Still tweaking my 2010 SG, so I thought I would ask what seems to work for people who have tried to solve the problem.
1. I'm 6'2" 245lbs and the seat is fine for short rides but kills my lower back and shoulders on long rides. Tried a Pro Gel pad and an adjustable backrest with some improvement. I have read the threads about MCC seats. If you own a SG what has worked for you? Should I get it moved forward or back?
2. They recommend approx 30 lbs of pressure in the shocks. Has anyone found a better pressure or a better shock to smooth out the ride. I'm not a wimp but a sore back sure takes the fun out of a long ride.
3. Does anyone have a suggestion on grips to prevent your throttle hand from going numb?
I enjoy to ride and maybe it's just my old bones, but I'd like to be able to enjoy a long ride and still feel like doing something when the stands go down.

I run 40 Lbs in mine. I am 250.

I like the ISO grips with Throttle buster. The grips have a bigger radius. I also use my cruise. The other thing you can try is to loosen your grip.

I would go into your dealership as they can suggest different seats for taller riders, possibly move the floorboards forward, etc. Every dealer I've seen has a "Fit Shop" for just this reason.

For me it always seems to be the junk handlebars. I am only 5'8 and they are way too low. I feel like I am leaning too far forward and it kills my back. Changing them this weekend hopefully.

Pain between the shoulders is usually Handlebars, Leaning forward even taller riders need them up and some pullback.

Harley touring pullbacks are up 2" and back 2" Flanders make some nice ones to.

Best seat I have had was the Saddlemen Explorer Classic Gel Seat very comfortable riding all day.

However just ordered a Corbin Dual Tour as many people have had good reports on their Corbins.

A firm seat and an upright seating position with the handlebars should alleviate a lot of the pains.

I'm bout the same size as you, so far the 13' cyclesmiths have made a world of difference in how my back and neck feel.next thing I'm gonna try is relocating floorboards. There are several kits but one moves the boards both out and forward. Haven't decided on a seat just yet but I'm gonna try avon anodized grips without the spiked ends. They look just like the pm grips.

I have the mustang solo with back rest and its good. But after 100 miles my *** is burning. I just put the +2 sweepers on and it made a difference. Also the PM renthal grips are sweet. Biggest help was the jack knife pegs. Where they're mounted its perfect. Legs drop and widen. Not holding them up. Really lengthened the ride time.
