Default Neutral Light is always on? 2010 SG

Going to work this morning and when I down shifted as I was coming to a stop at the end of the exit ramp she would not shift into first. So I push down on the shifted a couple of more times and get first gear... but my neutral light was on. Because I was in traffic I continued on. No matter what gear I'm in the neutral light remained on and the "key" symbol light is on the speed O as well.

I did a search on the forum and didn't find anything. Has anyone ever had this problem? And if so what fixed it?

I was going to say maybe the neutral switch on top of the trans, until you said key-light too.

Maybe a computer issue?
Yeah, since it's a warranty issue it won't cost you anything so I'd let the dealer figure it out and fix it.

I was told many years ago that if a warning light comes on the only thing it tells you is the bulb works! Get your dealer to sort it out and ask him what went wrong, then let us all know! Let's hope it is quick and simple.

Sounds like Neutral switch to me but agree since it's under warranty just have the dealer repair and you'll be on your way.

The dealer is going to look at her later today. Thanks everyone for your input. I was just hoping for nothing major. The weather around here should be great through Labor day weekend and I'm hoping to put some more miles on her.

Thanks again.

Bud's 2010 FLTRX went in for the 1k service, they had the bike all day because the neutral light and key light were on. Checked everything and said all was ok, only thing they could find was a pinched wire in the hand controls as assembled from the factory. Appeared to have fixed the problem as it hasn't happened since.

I had the same problem on my 10 Ultra Limited. It just did it every now and then, but when it did it my cruise would also not work. I took it to my dealer and told them what was happening but they couldnt get it to do it for them. I left and on the way home it did it again. I just had them order me a new neutral sensor and told then that "I" would replace it if need be. When the switch came in they put it on at no charge under warranty. I havent had any problems since,......
