nogood, here's a copy of the thread I posted several days ago. I know where you're coming from and I have a good idea where I'm goin'. I'll keep in touch, if you'd like, and give you the "honest" scoop on what I think SUCKS ... OK?
Howdy, been hanging around this forum for a while and getting some good info and enjoying the "jabs and punches", but I finally felt I needed to join in on the fun! Here's my "two pesos" worth.... LOVED the shovel, Hated the EVO.. bought a '96 RK and put 86K+ miles on her. LOVED the EVO, Hated the Twin Cam... bought a '00 Ultra and put 54K+ miles on her. Mixed feelings on the 96 but...ordered an '07 Ultra and plan on ridin' the tires off her TOO! "Cause the times they are a changin'"
I'd be holdin' off on an '07 bagger till they start kickin' out bikes, without drivetrain issues. That might be a while....after the RECALL! Appears that limited testing, in combination with poor engineering, are rising to the forefront, again....this time for the '07 models. Great way to kick off a new drivetrain launch....if the unsuspecting only knew! MOCO could go back to the trusted 88" drivetrain for a while, till they get the mess sorted.
i still dont know how you can justify 10 peoples problems on here, to the tens to hundreds of thousands out there running just fine. the 06s had even more bugs. cant you remember all the guys posting- they saw there lives pass by them, when there bike stalled in the middle of an intersection. hell didnt you have to get anew bike? just a few minor kinks in the 07s, any good dealer will work out
Someone on here was raisin he!! the other day about how all of the '06 guys are crackin on the '07 model bikes. Well......I just flipped over to the 2nd page and there are like 5 threads about..." 07 problem" or "My 07 does this" or "My 07 does that" Dont bust us for talkin smack, unless we are talkin smack. Sounds like the 07 models do, in fact, SUCK! Yes, we told you they would, but you bought them anyway! I, for one understand that new products often do, SUCK! Dont take it so hard, they will eventually get all the bugs worked out of 'em. But seriously, a spade is a spade, and so far, the 07's are turds. It's not a personal attack. I am really surprised that for once, I made a good decision in keeping the '06. I do wish all of yall with '07 bikes the best of luck.....after all.....they are all Harleys....
They all suck but we all still buy them & swear tghey are the best bike out there & our model year is better than the next
I had my share of issues with most of my previous HD's including my 06Springer Classic...stalling, oil leak due to a missing o-ring that the factory "forgot" to install, missing bolts...that the factory "forgot" to install...but I really loved the bike & it was all covered by warranty.
I just picked up an 07 StreetGlide (looking to do more touring oriented riding)...so far so good. I expect some bugs & thats what the warranty is for & so far I have not had any issues with my dealer.
