Bottom line unless you have driven one or know someone that has , how can you call them "turds" ? A few new H-D riders hearing strange sounds , not heard of a problem other than sounds?
ORIGINAL: wnogood

Someone on here was raisin he!! the other day about how all of the '06 guys are crackin on the '07 model bikes. Well......I just flipped over to the 2nd page and there are like 5 threads about..." 07 problem" or "My 07 does this" or "My 07 does that" Dont bust us for talkin smack, unless we are talkin smack. Sounds like the 07 models do, in fact, SUCK! Yes, we told you they would, but you bought them anyway! I, for one understand that new products often do, SUCK! Dont take it so hard, they will eventually get all the bugs worked out of 'em. But seriously, a spade is a spade, and so far, the 07's are turds. It's not a personal attack. I am really surprised that for once, I made a good decision in keeping the '06. I do wish all of yall with '07 bikes the best of luck.....after all.....they are all Harleys....

wnogood should I let the cat out of the bag? All right I will.... wnogood isn't really 6' 4" 265 lbs. He is only 5' 2" and 135 lbs. and he is standing on a kitchen chair behind his UC. If you look close you'll see the chair legs. Really [sm=happybounce.gif]

He had some running scared because they thought he was going to squash their heads like grapes. [sm=escape.gif]

Whooohooo!

Another 07 thread. Blah blah blah.

Come back when you have something intelligent to tell us.

Sad that you don't stand behind your MoCo. I guess since a few had problems with the 07's all harley's must suck now.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh man this gets funnier by the minute! I had no idea that the written word could be manipulated into such disgraceful terms. Someone, and not me mind you, made the comment early on that they were leary of the first year model of ANYTHING. Too much new stuff, too many problems that you just can't find until joe public gets the stuff in his/her hands. My point is that with the sad old 88, everyone knew what they would be faced with. The "Typical" problems. They started almost 10 years ago, and now, even the aftermarket has fixes for them. It's kind of like an old saying I once heard....."The devil you know, is better than the devil you dont know" No surprises with the old 88. Yes, I did have problems with my last '06. No argument there. They were all the "Typical" problems inherent to the bike. They did actually get my bike fixed, finally, but by the time they did, me, the MoCo, the area HD rep, and the dealers involved all agreed that I had been without my bike way too much during the first 8 months of ownership. They graciously repurchased my bike. Was the bike ok? Yes. Did I have a problem with keeping my old bike? No. So why then did I let them repurchase it? Because I deserved it, and they were offering to do it.

Again, I must admit that it saddens me that the new bikes are so troublesome. It is fuel on the metric fire so to say. One of my friends just bought an '07, and at 700 miles, his heel/toe shifter fell off as he was leaving a red light. His comment...."Nothing ever fell off my honda in 4 years of riding" One of his buds just bought an '07 as well. At 600 miles, the right saddlebag fell off, and skidded down the road. His comment....."Is this normal on Harleys?" I love mine, and I know that all of you guys and gals love yours, but, the MoCo needs to tighten up, and remember that quality is what sells bikes. Availability is great......but they need to put more emphasis on quality....

well said wnogood. i think the 07 guys hear will most likely calm down, you know everybody takes it personal when they feel liked there being bashed. but i see where your coming from. its hard to determine peoples real thoughts on a keyboard. i love my 06 and i agree waiting in case there are kinks, im not going to rub it in. just try and help the new guys with any probs.

I HAVE BEEN RIDING HARLEYS FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE QUALITY IS MUCH BETTER NOW THAN YEARS AGO. I THINK IT JUST MAY BE THAT THE SHEAR NUMBER OF BIKES PRODUCED ARE PROPORTIONATELY BRINGING ABOUT MORE FAILURES AND WITH ALL THE MEANS OF MEDIA(SUCH AS THIS FORUM) AND COMMUNICATION THE FAILURES SEEM MORE THAN USUAL BECAUSE THEY ARE MAGNIFIED SINCE YOU HEAR ABOUT THEM MORE OFTEN.BACK IN THE 60s I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT PROBLEMS IN CA OR NEY YORK OR FLORIDA. BUT NOW WITH SITES SUCH AS THESE I KNOW WHATS HAPPENING ALL OVER IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE 06 OR 07 BIKES ARE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS JUST THAT MAYBE THEY ARE MORE MAGNIFIED THAN USUAL. THERE WAS ALSO A TIME WHEN HARLEYS QUALITY WAS SO BAD THAT OWNERS DIDNT EVEN COMPLAIN BECAUSE THE LOW QUALITY WAS JUST ACCEPTED. I RECALL ONE GUY IN 1974 BUYING A BRAND NEW SUPERGLIDE OFF THE FLOOR THAT WAS LEAKING. HE PAID FULL VALUE LOADED THE BIKE UP AND TOOK IT HOME IN HIS TRUCK TELLING THE DEALER HE WOULD FIX IT HIMSELF ALL WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE.THE DEALERS USE TO KEEP PANS UNDER THE BIKES ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR FLOOR. COME ON OLDTIMERS, WHO ELSE OUT THERE REMEMBERS THAT. ANY WAY I BOUGHT A BIKE MYSELF THAT DAY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND IT STOPPED ON ME THE NEXT DAY. TURNS OUT THE BATTERRY CABLE WAS NOT TIGHTENED PROPERLY. ONE DAY I AM DRIVING ALONG AND GO FOR THE REAR BRAKE TO DISCOVER I HAVE NONE SINCE THE FASTENER TO THE LINKAGE CABLE HAD VIBRATED OUT. I AM NO EXCUSING HARLEY BUT TRYING TO OFFER SOME PERSPECTIVE. HARLEY WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I AM MORE SURPRISED AT THE CVO BIKES WHICH ARE ALMOST ALL HAND DONE. THEY HAVE THEIR ISSUES AS WELL. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NO PROBLEMS AND RELIABILITY MAYBE A HONDA IS YOUR CHOICE. BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE CONFIGURATION AND FRAME STYLE, HARLEY WILL NEVER BE AS DEPENDABLE. JUST A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE. IN THE WIND IN PENSACOLA. RIDING IT LIKE I STOLE IT!!!

Well hello guys, been out riding and I guess I missed a few posts. Hey D175 "Little Miss HD91 99 07" where did that come from. Have made several posts since this thread. If we can't banter back and forth here on this forum well where can we. I think wnogood and myself should offer you an a$$ whooping for trying to stir something up. He loves his 06 I love my 07, what could be better than that.

Nogood, last post made some good points and was a good one; I know where you are coming from. The written word is misinterpreted as well as manipulated.

"One of his buds just bought an '07 as well. At 600 miles, the right saddlebag fell off, and skidded down the road. His comment....."Is this normal on Harleys?"
That's FUNNY, feel bad for you buddy though.

HD91 99 07- DI75 doesn't need me to talk for him but as a brother Marine I'll tell you that he just threw out some DI banter. It may be a little manly for some but he meant no harm. I assure you he has had his free *** whuppins and has given a few away as well. That's the beauty of life everything evens out in the end, let's go have a beer.
