Does anybody have a road king and use the chrome wind deflector from harley or any other ones such as the one from custom chrome or kuryakyn? I guess what I want to know is are they functional in blocking wind that comes from under/ the windshield and up aroung the tank? Or are they more cosmetic and not very good in blocking wind? Any help will be appreciated
i just bought a pair cause its starting to cool off here. i love them, im not crazy about the look but, everybody else loves the look that sees my bike. makes the front end fatter. they block a ton of wind that comes up. they let the engine heat warm you up a bit. they give your body a huge break from the wind. i would definatly reccomend them. i also bought the short tinted windshield from harley. love that look, and the 2 work even better together.
I have a set on my 03 Heritage Classic and like you at first I did not like the looks of them.
But they are extremely functional at blocking wind. Best $50 bucks I spent on that bike. I leave them on year round. You catch more wind with the front end, meaning you can feel it in gusty conditions, but after a while I don't notice it any more.
What they all said.... well worth the money. Wife says she gets a little more buffeting between 60-65 mph when she's on back, but nothing unbearable. I'll leave mine on year 'round.
