Default Ok all you Harley nerds

I need some help from the people in the know. I was looking at a used Ultra Classic. The owner had upgraded the exhaust and had what he called a "power commander". Is this like part of a stage 1? If I upgrade the intake do I then have a stage 1? Gees louise, I might have to go back to an ugly goldwing so I don't have to figure out all the upgrades I should have. Ha.
Anyway, a little help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Bob

Power commander is a fuel management system for EFI. It is used when you do stage 1 or further (i.e. pipes and air cleaner change, cams, etc.)

Power Commander is a form of fuel managment. If he has that, more than likely he already has some type of hi flow air cleaner in place.

Been called alot of things but NERD is not one of them..... If the prior owner changed pipes & added a power commander - I'd say he changed the intake....SE/K&N etc. etc. etc. my

Thanks guys. That was my thought or at least what I've been told that a stage 1 is intake, exhaust, fuel managment. Then beyond that you can look at cams or big bore or whatever. However, this guy says he did not change the air intake so I'll have to have a look when I see it. I'm trying to get into my first Harley so I'm such a nube.

Too funny - putting Harley & nerd in the same posting. I'm an IT guy, but wouldn't classify any Harley rider a nerd - don't biker's get the chicks?

Yes, you've got a bike computer running the show so if you buy it - welcome to HD nerdsville.
