Do what you think is right. FWIW, I would have backed out as well.

I'm not real concerned about the NO LICENSE deal. How does that effect me? The NO INSURANCE deal is the problem for me. The NO EXPERIENCE excuse cracks me up. You ride a MC right, among idiots in cars, trucks and semis, all the time, you never know where they are at or what direction they are coming from. And you are worried about a kid you can identify and watch out for????????????

I would probably go but bring up the rear. It's not really my job to tell people what they can or should do. I would just stay far in the back and see how goes it. I personally know older guys I wouldn't let behind me so age isn't the determining factor for me. I tend to stay in the back of any motorcycle pack because you always have at least one knucklehead.

After being around some adults that are completely legal in every way I might be tempted to try a run with the 15 yr old. He will likely listen to advice and actually learn. He may also be a natural when on 2 wheels. At least the family is together and experiencing life. I wish my dad was able to spend time with me on the road at 15. I would suggest you pass on the ride. Better do the laundry or finish the knitting.

BADPIGGY asks " Am I being a Douchebag " The short answer is YES you are being a DOUCHE-BAG, but it has nothing to do with backing out on the ride.

Good point. You can indeed watch for him, way easier than an unknown stranger.

So the boy ends up slamming into the passenger side of your car. Your daughter is taken away by ambulance and spends an agonizing week in the hospital before dying from injuries sustained in the accident.

Was this still an acceptable decision by the boy's parents to have him come along and operate a motor vehicle without being a licensed and insured rider?

Am I Being A Douchebag?
Typically, I'd say that if you need to ask the question, then - Well, yeah, you're being a douchebag.

BUT IN THIS CASE, I can totally understand and would forget and forgive any such douchebaggery in a heartbeat. I wouldn't want to be a part of that one either.

I wouldn't go.......

Imagine if I did, and something bad happened. Mom and dad BOTH are gonna claim "well if it is illegal, then why did the Cop riding with us not say anything??"
