It's your bike but I would/did use locktite on mine. Very cheap insurance especially with dissimilar metals.

I contacted Diamond and they suggested a drop of blue on the bolts so I did it. I feel better about it too.
Thanks for all the advice.

Hopefully if you ever take it apart again you dont pull the threads out of the aluminum, its very common in aluminum.

That is why you should use anti-seaze or loctite.

generally when using locktite or never seeze especially on aluminum the torque needs to be reduced by as much as 40% because tis acts like a lubricant and its very easy to strip or pull threads. So I have never seen a caliper come apart because there wasnt any locktite or n-seeze not used on it. Just saying as a general rule, my experience in this business most everyone overuses locktite, never seeze and above all is silicone to which down the road it makes more trouble than what the user was trying to accomplish.

The torque of 10.7 ft lbs is the bolt manufacturers rating for a gr8 stainless bolt used for the calipers with loctite or anti-seaze. I have always seen the use of anti-seaze or loctite recommended for bolts and plugs used with aluminum to prevent gaulling. If you have some new information that this has changed I sure would be interested in hearing it.

Motorcycles are vibration prone; I always use LoctiteMotorcycles, even if it's just the blue stuff!
