You can see the back support in this pic. I did a couple 320 mile days in a row without a problem with just stops for gas.
Thanks for the pic! I have an 03 Fatboy and think the fastback would look good. Did you get a backrest with yours? Does anyone know if the backrest is adjustable? Thanks!

Nice bike & great pic but you can't compare Softail seats with bagger seats. You sit more "in" a Softail & "on" a bagger, never gonna get the same back support without a backrest on a bagger.
The C&C Fastback is the best looking seat out there, IMO. I really like mine.
As far as comfort, the OP said he already has the C&C Sport Tour- well, if you find that comfortable, then you'll also like the Fastback- from what I understand, they are the exact same seat for the rider- the only difference is the passenger part of the seat.
Ordered the C&C Fastback w/removeable backrest for the RG last week. Looks like it should be real comfortable and provide good back support even without the backrest. Hopefully it arrives soon and I'll post a review.
I am doing the exact same thing. Couldn't find the "perfect combo" solo for looks and comfort. Decided on ordering 2 seats. C&C Fastback and C&C Sport Tour. Fastback for when it's just me, and Sport Tour for when the lady wants to ride. One screw to change them out, and the fender will always be covered. Seems like the best way to go for me. Now I just have to figure out if I want leather or not.
I was sold on the fastback but then my wife looked at it and said something along the lines of "You want me to sit on THAT?? "
So i got the solo with 10.5" passenger pillion and matching backrest pad for the sissy bar for when she wants to come along.
The solo doesn't have much inherent back support and mine has even less since I had them cut it back an extra inch but the backrest takes care of that and is very comfortable!
