Does any one know if the S. E. FatShotz p/n 80847-10 will fit a 09 RKC, the harley accessory book list 2010 and above and Calif. 09 touring bikes. Is it because of the cat or are the head pipes a different size, local harley parts guys doesn't know the answer. Appreciate any advice........THANKS
My guess is because of the cat in the head pipes. I have a 2011 RKC that I put Fat SHotz on. WIth the cat, the sound is muffled significantly before it gets to the muffler, ergo a straight thru baffle can be used without violating the almighty EPA sound regs (you can see straight through the Fat Shotz). I bet the pipes would sound MUCH louder without that cat. I called the guys at SuperTrapp to ask them about the kit they sell for the SE Fat Shotz that has more discs along with the closed end cap. The tech there told me not to bother unless I install new head pipes as the cat won't allow it to get much louder, but that with new head pipes the kit would allow the full range of tuning that SuperTrapp is known for.
I'm pretty sure you can fit the mufflers on your bike - and I bet it would sound great!

I hope that all makes sense!
thanks for the input, I guess the head pipes are the same size except for the cat in the pipes and should bolt on the same.
To take the guesswork out of it I spoke with the people at Super Trapp and was told that the internal components of the HD Fat Shotz and the Super Trapp fat Shots is exactly the same baffle, and packing material. The only difference is the HD version has an open end cap and 10 discs, while the Super Trapp version has a closed end cap and 20 discs.
as you guessed the difference is compliance with the 2010+ catted headers ( and the 09 CA and Int'l catted headers)- mufflers are interchangeable from 1995 to current.
Shown are modified nightsticks- the open caps are dummies, I have closed caps in the disk stacks. I run 16 disks right side and 8 left side.
I use alot of supertrapp products on H-D's and have since 1990-

I have them on my 09 and they sound great. Supertrapp told me either run with no discs to 2 on each side with the open end or put 10 -12 discs on both sides with a close end either way low end tourqe and good sound. addind disc takes from the bottom end and gives to the top end. all that said I'm looking for 4 discs and a closed end cap to try out the sound differance
