I can adjust my lo beam to a comfortable height where I can see down the road OK but not as good as I would like and I don't get anyone flashing their hi beams at me. By the time I raise the lo beam, the hi beam is shining in the trees.
Are there any headlights that have the hi and lo beams closer together(less separation)? Or are they all standard?
I ride to work in the dark and when the days get shorter, I'll be riding in the dark coming home, too.

Harley sells E code lenses in the accessory book for european use. They are also available from aftermarket suppliers. Not strictly legal in usa as they are not DOT approved but i have them on both bikes and most people wouldn't even know what they were. The low beam has a flatter cutoff and the high beam has a more focused beam. They can be adjusted to do what you want. The one on my dyna is a Hella with 100/85 Osram halogen bulb. It lights up the night like the sun just came up.
I know you can get an adapter for cars that allows the low beam to stay on when the high beam is engaged. I don't know where you would get it from or if this info helps
Update: I finally bit the bullet and got the HD LED headlight. It solved all the up/down angle problems. It is brighter on Hi beam but does not point way up. It is barely higher than the Lo beam. Plenty of bright, white light. I'll probably get the LED passing lamps for Christmas this year. They are expensive.
