Corbin has had this reputation for a long time, I hear the same comments on my ZRX forum and also on the Buell forums: Pretty good products, really shitty service. You figure someone from Corbin would have noticed..maybe they were too busy making sofas.

Kudos,

Well stated post. I am not re-considering my seat options as I was just about to buy from them.

Some of their stuff looks so cool, and my understanding is that if you live near Hollister, then you go there with your bike and keep on 'em till they get your fit right (sounds cool to me...I'm in the Bay Area.)

But mail order and Corbin? I've read so many bad things about their customer service, I would conclude that they are ******** when they think they can get away with it.

What sucks is that, so what if you can get away with it? Why would you want to?

It's like say there's $20 sitting on the ground that I just saw a guy drop out of his pocket. I know it's his but he doesn't see me watch the bill drop. I can wait a second for him to go away, pocket the money and no one's the wiser, right? I don't want to rip him off (it is a rip-off, by the way, to take something that doesn't belong to you when you know who's stuff it is, no matter how you come across it) not because I'll go to hell in a hand basket; I simply don't want to. We were brought up better than this.

Then again, Corbin's a corporation, with more rights than people, more say than people. I'm a capatalist, through and through, but corporations exist to provide financial gain to individuals without individual responsibility.

I'm sorry that Corbin chooses to burn you. You're not the only one. I've read many, many posts like yours. And when someone wants to reply to my post here defending Corbin, ask yourself, "Did they rip you off too, or are you one the lucky ones?"

My question to Corbin is: why would you want to do stuff like this to people, ignoring their concerns while you take money that really isn't yours (re-stocking fees, charging money to return an item to a shelf, constitute a form of corporate theft as described by the OP, in my opinion.)

There is natural law that trumps man's law, which is an attempt at decency. When we're talking about Corbin's re-stocking fee, of course, we're talking about their policy, not the law, and it's an indecent ploy to keep people's money that they know doesn't belong to them, but as long as they can get away with it...

Natural law dictates that things exist in balance, and the balance is made right inevitably. Whether you are made whole in a reasonable time isn't the point here; you got burned. How long does Corbin flourish while treating customers this way in the face of what's naturally decent?

Not forever. I, for one, wouldn't patronize their business after reading stuff like this many times.

Corbin, you suck.

It's been several years since I have had Corbin seats but they were great. At the time I bought them, they were available thru Drag Specialties but now I see they're only factory direct. That said, does anyone know if Corbin will deal on their seats? I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger on a new one to call them now but curious what recent experiences are? Thx for the input....

Well their mail order customer service may suck but their business must be doing pretty well. I was at the Hollister factory yesterday having a back rest made for my tour pack to match the seat they made me a few years ago. They are in the middle of a major remodel to their showroom and ride in service facility. There were no less than 20 women cutting and stitching covers. Another few dozen guys building seats.

You shoulda asked Mike for a tour. What you see is only a small part of whats going on.

Ive had 3 Corbins. The first one I had to return and when I got it back it was perfect. The second was comfortable as hell, but there was some problems with how the seat fit the bike. It was a custom jobber and I couldnt get what I wanted across to them over the phone. I finally gave up. Still have the seat, but the bike is gone. My third seat I rode in to have done.
Always call the Factory in Hollister. Never deal with florida. Also, some of you might need to look in the mirror. Just sayin.

Well at least they're consistent. Their customer service reputation sucks in the metric world too. They just don't seem to get it.

Maybe they don't need any extra business if they are already swamped...

Default Talking about customer service

FYI, Dennis Kirk will match any lower price found, have great personel customer service, included with every order is a "Merchandise Return Form". With in 90 days, if not happy, simply fill out the form, box it up and drop it off at your local ups store, shipping is paid by Dennis Kirk ! Once they recieve your return, they deduct $7.99 from your refund, thats it ! I had talked to a seat manuf. and they said no refund if I didn't like it, but they would do one modify on the seat for free, otherwise too bad ! So I bought this same seat for a lesser cost from Dennis Kirk, free shipping on orders over $100. I didn't like the way it fit my '12 Limited, so sent it back ! "No issue" with Dennis Kirk !! NOW THIS IS GREAT SERVICE, IMHO !! And no, I don't work for Dennis Kirk ! Thanks, Craig
