I'm thinking of putting some short apes on my '07 Ultra. The stock bars just are not comfortable for me. If you have apes on your Ultra or Street Glide, please post some pics and tell me about your set up. Also, do you like them better than the factory bars? If you have any other aftermarket bars, please post them up as well
....i'm looking for something like this myself.... SHORT apes... nothing over the fairing..don't need that winter wind on my hands... i'm only 5'7 but i definatley feel like i would be more comfortable with my hands up higher.
I've looked into Paul Yaffe Monkey bars.. they make then in 10", pricey though.. and i 'm on the fence about their unique style.. i don't know if they would make thier regular Bagger Apes in 10" (although not listed on PYO website they might custom make them cuz PYO said they would make Monkey BAgger bars in a custom 9" size if i wanted)... also just found some Santee 10" apes in the Custom Chrome catalog.. very resonable ay $99... but i can't seem to find anyone with any info.. or experience with these... Good luck.. i'll be following your thread....

I liek the Paul Yaffe stuff too. The regular bars are only $100 for the 1" diameter. I'm not building a show bike or anything, I just want to be more comfortable. I also like the idea that he sells a kit with everything you need for the install (takes all the guess work out of cable lengths and so on)
Yaffe will custom make any height you want. We work closely with him on custom bars all the time. They are not inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for. 10" or under and there is no need to add extra wires or new cables either. Pm me or call the shop and we can talk about what you are after. Both bagger guys at the shop run the Wild 1 12" apes as well as another buddy and they love them. They are quite comfortable as well.
Don't think the fairing mirrors will work with the 575's. Depends on your torso . They work fine with the 577's Bars, new riser bushings, clutch cable, brake lines were $400 shipped from Dr V-Twin. Add 1 Qt trans fluid, trans cover gasket, brake fluid, heat shrink and 12 pack of Bud to that figure.
