Don't know if yours is the same but when I bought me limited one ov the key sets had a little tag with numbers. Also a place to write it down in the oweners manual. I awe told the dealer could make a key from those numbers. If not they might from the vin?? I am sure someone will chime in.
Is it the only key you had? If you have the spare at home, you can slide the rubber up and get the key number off it and the dealer can order you a new set. Not sure about the VIN lookup, but it sounds reasonable that they would be able to order one that way too.
I bought my bike pre-owned and only had 1 key. Got both security fobs but only 1 key. Ordered a new set of keys from the dealer using the VIN. Both new keys work great. Cost $20-25 and took less than a week.
You can order the keys by either the code on the key tag, code on side of key itself, or by taking your VIN and title or proof of registration to the dealer. The cost last year was about $27.00. May have gone up since then. New ignition switch and keys will be close to $100.00.
