Default Klock Werks - 8" Flare Windshield

So the first mod on the bike is done, a KW 8" flare windshield. I only got to run a couple miles down the interstate but I got to tell you it makes a huge difference. Now if you want a windshield to keep all the wind off of you...get a car...no seriously, this isn't it. What it does do is move the buffeting zone if you will. With the stock HD shield and wearing a full face there was resistance when I would turn my head left or right when changing lanes from the wind. That is gone and you feel a slight bit of wind going over the helmet but it doesn't beat you're head like a drum like a shorty on a batwing does. Also, it reduces but doesn't completely eliminate the wind coming up from the bottom of the fairing which I'm hoping the new FLTR wind deflector from HD will. My guess is by raising the airflow, it doesn't have as much affect pulling the air going under the fairing up in front of your face. There were a couple times w/ my half helmet I had to put my hand over my nose to breathe...real shocker since I've ridden sans fairing on several other bikes without that problem.

Default Added Wind Deflectors

Here's what I found while riding. With a full face helmet and the visor up/open, there is now a downforce that wants to push the visor down until it's closed but other than that, nothing else. With a shorty helmet and some glasses with wind protection (not goggles) the glasses will move around slightly from the buffeting at 70 or so but not so much you can't see or have blurred vision and my glasses do not have a strap around the back of my neck and I NEVER felt like the glasses were going to come off. I found that if I tilted my head down a few degrees, there was no wind on my face but facing the dash and looking forward is a bit uncomfortable so FYI there was no turbulence at that angle.
