Lets see I know how to ride, the dealer found the same problem I did. I maybe wrong on the rpms because I wasn't really paying attention to the rpms just guessing. I still have the problem with the bike not firing on the front cylinder. Thats what the code says. Dealer found same problem. They have changed the ecm, coil, air idle control, throttle sensor, map sensor plugs injector, checked the pressure on the fuel system at idle and when it was acting up. They have called the engineers at harley and they couldnt give the dealer a answer. But the problem comes when it is in the mid range not at idle and not at full throttle. sorry for the confusion this is the first time that I have had to use a forum and did not give enough information. But yes I know when to down shift and thats not the problem thanks for all the useless answers
I hope your kidding........but if your not, your bike should not be under any kind of load below 2500 rpms.
I'm really surprised your dealer didn't tell you this. You need to change dealers and change gears.
You can't lug a motor and expect it to run decent.
I'm not a mechanic, but I have owned bikes for over 40 yrs.
Just new to this forum.
You could be having an ignition break down on your plug wires. It could also be burnt intake valves or a flat cam, but those should show up @ higher RPM's also. But you should not be @ that RPM unless you are coasting, no load. Good luck
I'm sure there will be other replies but I think it's been well said already. As for me, the only gears I spend any time around 1500 rpm in is 1st, maybe 2nd under the right conditions. That's way to slow an engine speed for 4th and up. Keep the engine running 2000 rpm as an absolute minimum, 2500 is better, and I think you'll find your problems will go away!
