After lurking around the forums for weeks I bit the bullet and purchased a Power Commander V and a Rhinehardt slip on for my 2010 SG, running the stock header for now. There is no map online for this set up so I installed the Rinehardt 2-1 full system map. Will running the wrong map cause any damage?

Running the wrong map can cause 2 issues - lean or rich. If you are running too rich, you will foul the plugs. If you run too rich for a loooong time, you can have carbon build up on the pistons, valves, etc, but you would go through alot of plugs before this happens. So, to sum up, running too rich isn't going to do any damage and the worst case is you wind up on the side of the road with fouled plugs.
Running too lean will cause damage. The engine will run too hot, and too lean can also contribute to preignition ping. You are better off too rich than too lean.
With the slip on and the map you chose, I would guess that you are running just a bit rich, if not perfect. If the bike feels like it is running good and has a good throaty sound, I would leave it. If it sounds "tinny" it is too lean, but I doubt it. That map should richen it up and pretty much all the bikes from the MOCO in the last decade run too lean anyway, so you should be good.
So, if it runs and sounds good, I'd leave it. If you are in doubt, where did you get the parts? If you got them from FuelMoto, call Jamie, I'm sure he'd be happy to help. If not, you may try him anyway, he has one heck of a rep for being helpful.
