Signal Question
I just put new 18" apes on my FLHRI, but the right side blinkers don't work, they light up but don't flash when I press the button. The starter and run buttons work fine and I tested the wires to make sure there is power coming up to the switch, and there is.
I tried plugging my old bars in and the right side would blink, so I thought ok the new switch was bad. Well I pulled my old switch out and put it in the new housing, but still no blink blinky !! I did blow my accesory fuse a few times while pressing the turn signal and brake "button", but I got that corrected somehow. I know blowing a fuse indicates exposed or touching wires somewhere, but I just can't seem to find any. The only wires I've touched are the ones in the headlight housing. There was a rubber boot on my old idle cable that had 2 small wires connected to it, but I was told that was just there in case I added cruise control and it shouldn't matter.
The place I bought them from have been great, and they are overnighting me a new switch to try. If this new switch doesn't work, I have to send the bars back and have them rewired. Just wondering if anybody else has any experiance with this issue

Turns out it was one of the female connectors in the plug coming from the bars, it wasn't pulled up high enough to make contact with its male counterpart coming from my bike. I was so intent on checking the wires and switch for any damage, I completely ignored the plug itself. Everything works fine now.
BTW, A big plug for Hill Country Customs. Their customer sevice is A+ in my book. Brian from there was on the phone about 6 times with me trying to help figure out the problem. He even gave me his cell phone# for after hours help. It's nice to know that some places still care about the customer.
