I installed the HD adjustable backrest on my RK, I love it! I like being able to adjust the lean angle while on the road. The only thing that I don't like is that when you lean it forward to mount or dismount , it pushes on the seat too much and has ripped my seat. When I have my seat rebuilt by Mean City Cycles, I'm going to see if they can notch the seat a bit or put in some kind of stretch material to allow for leaning the backrest forward. Definitely spend the money on a good back rest, you won't regret it.
Added one to my Ultra Limited (the sig. pic was taken when the bike was new and it had not been added YET). THe one thing that I did not see mentioned in this thread is that when you have to back out of a parking spot, it gives you something to leverage against. For me, the adjustable unit is really nice.
I had a backrest but sold it. I never used it except for long trips, and hated the way it seemed to push me fwd when I did use it. Instead I opted for an aftermarket seat shaped to give some lower back support. I love my C&C seat.
HD adjustable. I messed up my shoulder in a snowmobile accident last winter and had a lot of discomfort reaching forward on the stock bars. The backrest keeps me forward and I've gone 6 hours with no pain! Luv it!
