OK I know what I want but I want some ideas or pics that you guys have. OK so here it goes. Its a 09 Street Glide black in color. I am going to do a custom paint job.. I am thinking of a 2 tone black and rusty orange with some sort of flames as the border between the orange and black... Also I am thinking of going to a 21" wheel in the front. Since I want to show off the wheel I would like a new fender.. I am leaning towards a Klock Werks fender, hugger series. Any suggestion on rims? What about putting a "shine" on the front end. What does all that consist of and how much would I be looking at. I know the rim itself runs around $1200 for what I am looking for. I like the look of Ape hangers but I am unsure of how the bike would handle with them. Nothing to crazy high, maybe shoulder height. Also I am going to get bag extensions. I like the look. I know that I might scrape them. I am thinking I am going to have to change my riding style a little bit. What other things should I be looking at?

All nice ideas for a custom look but are you sure you want a bike with a flame theme paint job? Not knocking those that have them and to each their own but if I were going for a custom paint job I would be a bit more creative. Just see too many bikes with flames IMO. Go to a well established painter and talk about ideas. Ya might even check out a tattoo parlor for some ideas. JMO....
This is my bike build as it progressed.
Check it out for ideas.
Now this IMO is one of the best looking bikes I have seen on the forum. Loved it since the first time I saw it. Very original. You're welcome BadPiggy....
We don't have to mention your obligation to post pics when she's done of course, that's a gimme!
What other things should you be looking at? Your bank statement! Not figuring in the usual ancillary items that will creep into the build, you'll be knocking on the door of 10 Large more likely than 5 Large, so plan accordingly. The paint design will have a big impact on your budget. You like candies and pearls? $$ Smart paint planning will likely net you a savings that you may wish to add to things like a stretched tank, custom tank console, chromed calipers or even 6-piston calipers, motor work, sound upgrades, upgraded lighting. But don't worry, we're always happy to help you spend your money!
Budget, plan, post pics, enjoy, and most important, best of luck with your project. Keep us posted.
