can anyone tell me what size windvest sheild i need on my roadglide, i am 5-11 i want the wind over my head
The year of your RG and the seat you have will be a factor as well. 12" might be enough on a 10/11 custom, but on the 09 the 14" is probably the way to go. I don't own one, but I have been eye balling them for a while now.
i tried a kw 12in to much wind noise around my ears , 09 roadglide is the bike
Had a 12" KW on my old RG and loved it,but I perfer looking a bit over my windshield especially if it's raining fairly hard....The fixed fairing RG's windshield is a further distance away from the rider's face meaning a relatively quiet ride ain't happening on a RG unless you're using a tall windshield....
I am 5'11 also. This is my third windshield. I just purchased a 12" smoked windvest windshield and it works great. I can see over it clearly. Buffeting is minimal and wind noise is greatly reduced. You can hear the radio clearly at speeds of 85mph and it makes riding 10hr days no problem. I had a 12" klock werks on for two years and long rides we not very enjoyable. Now I have no problems riding long days! I also think it looks better than the klock werks.
Like they're saying... I use a 12" Windvest and LOVE IT.
I use it with my 08 RG seat (another awesome) and I'm 5"8 with a 29 inch inseam.
I got a kinda tall torso.
I rode with it to Sturgis and Back, day after day, 500-600 mile legs. Zero issues...
lp
I think the 12" is the way to go on the newer RG's. I have a 98 with a comfort stitch seat. I am 5'11", and is was not enough for me. Too much wind knocking around my helmet. Just got rid of it today, and will be trying the 14"
