Default Neutral light stays on.

Went for a nice cruise Sunday thru Athens, while the bike was on cruise control I looked down and WTF, the N is lit up like a christmas tree. Pull over and as I slow down it goes out, so I continue on and again same thing! This time I pull over and shut the bike down and restarted the bike to continue and again same thing. If it's a sensor can I change it myself or am I to schedule a appt with my indy?

Easy fix. Neutral switch on top of the tranny. Try to wiggle it and see if it makes a difference. Mine did which is how it was diagnosed. I had a dealer look at it and was telling me I need my tranny ripped apart and rebuilt. Don't go to that dealer anymore.

My 08 did that, also the cruise would dissengage. Turned out to be the neutral switch.

The neutral switch could just be dirty and not needing a new one.

Got an '07 SG with 35,000 miles. I did it 1 night on the way home from a PGR mission and has never done it again. Guess I'm lucky.

Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. Prayer said. I just checked the thread because the neutral light on my 01 stopped working for a couple months and now is fine. Go figure....

Same thing happened to my 09 Ultra (back in May) plus my 6 gear indicator lamp was also illuminated no matter what gear I was in. This lasted probably a month before both of the problems disappeared on their own.

Mine failed a few years back, removed and cleaned with brake fluid. Been working fine since.
