What next, be careful when your out there touring on your older bike, all states will not have pumps marked. Higher fuel, and food prices .....yippe.

I heard that report today on Fox News radio. Guess the farm lobby was able to get into the heads of our elected lemmings. Corn is better suited to be made into mash and fermented into bourbon, but that's just my opinion.

wonder how many gallons of fuel the farmers and transporter and manufactures use to make a gallon of ethanol?

No its our greed and imperfect engine design that is killing us. If the world as a whole woke up and stopped competing to see who can make the most inefficient and most pollutant machines we would not have this energy crises. And only new cars are suppose to use E15 blend because they are designed to handle it it is not intended for anything else. Ethanol is not the answer but is another option to help us stop using so much crude. It takes twice as much energy to make a gallon of gasoline than it does a gallon of ethanol. Also ethanol is about $1.75 per gallon and the current price of gasoline is $2.82 and yes i did factor in that fact that gas produces more energy than ethanol when i came up with that price. I see that fox news is getting better at confusing people.

I didn't read the article but can guess what is is about so here again I will say Stay Tron. It is an ethanol neutralizer. Its a shame we have to spend more money to stave off damage and poor performance such as gas mileage to our vehicles but....

Sorry, I didn't take the time to see what FOX says. Does this figure in the tax money that goes to farmers not to produce or subsidies to produce ethanol? The tax included in the 2.82? Reduced efficiency in using corn?

I work in energy generation. In all of the report that I have seen over the years, after you factor all the energy input into making ethanol from corn, you get a gain 10%. 1 unit of energy in yields 1.1 units if energy out.

If you take away the subsidies for growing corn for ethanol there is no profit in it. Never mind the reduced range of the typical internal combustion engine when using 1 gallon of ethanol vice gasoline.

The tax money used on subsidies for corn would be better spent on developing more efficient engine designs and the technology to create ethanol from prairie grass / waste cellulose stocks.

Rant complete. Now back to the regularly scheduled program

Fox news never confuses me? My point was the EPA is killing us and what will happen at the gas pumps when your out and about in different states touring on your scoot. They the EPA never take into consideration the damage done and the havoc , job loss etc from there actions. I don't know about you but would hate to run that 15 crap in my 40,000 dollar bike ...
