Have an 08 Ultra. The bike appears to have some rust under the paint where the rear tail light meets the painted part of the fender. Like cars have a rust-through warranty period, do the Harley's?

If not, sand it down, prime it and repaint?

 

I you look at my attached picture, I circled in red where you can see that I added strong, but thin black fiber washers between the signal bar and the fender. I could see where there appeared to be a little bubbling started around the holes. I sanded, and repainted with touch up paint. I also undercoated the inside of the fender as well as the saddlebag filler strips.

 

Take it to the dealer first. Don't waste time waiting for responses here.

 

+1, if you still have the warranty, take it to the dealer, hopefully they will cover it. Hope it works out for ya.
