The anti-fog is not built into the face shield.
The scorpion helmets have a rubber shield, built in, that directs your breath down and away from the face shield. It does work well, but around town, I still have to crack the shield to keep it from fogging up.

I considered this pin loc but I read that it distorts images. Whats your take on this?
I don't see any distortion where the insert is.
What I do notice tho is a big ole' thumbprint that someone must have put there when they put the insert on. LOL. So if you get one, just be extra careful and clean both the shield and the insert prior to installation. You can take the insert off but it's a pain in the neck.
I'll second what everybody else has said about pinlocks. I have a pinlock shield in my RF1000 and it never, ever fogs up. My glasses still do on occasion, but if I don't mouthbreathe it usually isn't an issue.
