I am considering buying a HD LCD oil temperature and level indicator which retrofits the factory dipstick on a 2010 103 Limited.
Is anyone who is using this product happy with it or is it junk?
I try to steer people away from them just because of all the problems we have had with them at the shop. Seems to be pretty hit or miss on the quality.

Go by the instructions when removing (to add oil).
Mine says to TWIST the gage and pull to remove...I think my first one was screwed up
when a certain-someone rocked it back and forth and broke it. (can't prove it.....
but have strong suspistions.)
I have since, installed a temp gage in the dash....but still use LCD to check level.

There have been posts reporting problems with these. I bought one for my 07 ultra and still use it on my 2010. Buy the in dash oil temp gauge that replaces the ambient air temperature gauge. Definetly the way to go!
JUNK! Went through three (SLOW LEARNER). The third one came apart when the dealer tried to remove it. There are 9 ball bearings under the retaining clip and guess where some of them went. They did give me a new oil pump.
If you search, you will find hundreds of pages of discussion on these. I've had mine for over two years. It has been rained on, washed, hot, cold, pretty much every condition encountered in the life of a motorcycle. No problems at all with it. The temperature reading is consistent (7 degress higher than actual, but consistently so), the oil reading isn't as fine grained as I'd like but it works, too.
I had one on my 07 RK, it worked fine for about 2 years then it crapped out. A riding buddy of mine had one that only lasted a year. Based on our experiences with them, I will NOT be buying another one. I'm thinking about getting the dash mounted oil temp gauge to replace the air temp gauge.
I have one and it stopped working for a month then started working again just as I was about to try a battery change. When it works I am happy with it...when it doesn't I'm not.
