I like the manual compression release valves, i know they are working when i push them down and i hear the click, dealer did not reccomend the auto valves.

These are a really slick setup and I highly recommend them for any build. I was a hold out for a while, but it seems tht there are no issues so far with ACRs and seeing that the 07 and up bikes are prewired for them, it is an easy transition. (although on the 07 and 08s you will need to buy a little extension to reach from the main harness to the ACRs)
Totally agree that compression releases are a must for 103 combos. While many contend they are not needed, I believe the starter clutch is better off with the comp releases than without.

I did opt to do manual compression releases instead of the ACR's simply because they are easier to change out should they need to be serviced. Not that ACR fail often, pulling the gas tank and rocker boxes to change them out seems like a pain. At least with manual CR it is very much like changing out a spark plug.

30K on my bike, and no problems with the ACRs.

When the factory ships the bike to the dealer, they must map the bike and make sure the ACRs are working. When I picked up my bike , they forgot and I had to have the starter replaced

The last 107 build I did for a another, I used the ACRs after using them forome time on my own bike. You are correct that changing out the manuals is far easier, However, I really don't forsee any issues with the ACRs. I have also checked with the local HD dealer just to see if they have had any failures and none so far over a couple of years. Now it just boils down to personal preference.

And I also agree, any build to should include compression releases, saves on starter wear.
