I've come across a couple of places that sell a 6 speed conversion kit for my bike. I was curious as to whether anyone has any info about them. They claim that 1st-5th are exactly the same, but the addition of 6th can cut anywhere from 400-700 rpm off of cruising speed. Right now, I pull about 3300 rpm to go 75 mph ( the local interstate speed limit) and was figuring that the lower rpm's would greatly increase my mpg and add some cruising comfort. Any info appreciated, thanks.
Everything you have said is correct. You will drop your RPMs, increase gas milage and lesson wear on you engine. You will also lose that torque that you still have to kick it in 5th gear to scream around a car on the interstate. You have to weigh the good with the bad. I would probably put one in my roadglide if they weren't so expensive. You will just have to kick it down to 5th when you need that extra power.
I've heard some say they didn't gain any mileage with the 6 speed.
A stock EVO may not have enough power to pull a higher gear without more throttle.
If you have moded the engine enough it may be of benefit but stock it may be a waste of money.
I plan on getting one for my 95" TC Electraglide but it has loads more torque than the '89 Electraglide I had with the 80" EVO.
Just my 2cts.

Check into the final drive gear ratios, There are a different ratio available with the kit verses the complete trans. Don't know the exact numbers but somethig like 1 to 1 verses .86 to one. I did hear that they weren't advisable with the evo also.
