not all the time, but it has its uses. If it were missing, I'd be pissed.

Same here.......by removing the heel shifter, it freed up ALOT of room to move my foot forward and back on the floorboard.

Didn't like it or need it. Took it off and like above it gave me more space on the board. Threw it in the saddle bag for a spare in case the front one fell off or got striped out.

Never used mine so I took it off.

I've been riding bikes since the 70s and my RK is the first bike with a heel shifter. So, after about 40 years toeshifting.......this dog is to old to learn new tricks!

I have Harley Goodies floorboard spacers on my RK and after removing the heel shifter I moved the toe shifter out by using a nylon spacer (available at Lowes).

Try it, it puts the toe shifter in the right spot.

After getting used to the heel shifter...I have a hard time riding the wifes Deluxe without it. She wanted it removed.

I will never own another bike without it for my personal use. I have not had a worn toe on a boot since using it, and I actually find it faster and smoother to shift with it.

Wouldn't own a touring bike without it. One of the reasons I like my FLH. Can't even imagine why anyone would want to remove it. They do make extended ones if the ones on your bike don't fit your feet.

The first thing I did to my RK was remove it. I've never cared for heel shifters.

You have to adjust it I like about an inch off the board that way I still have the ball of my foot on the board lots more control while shifting too.

Took it off the first day I brought her home. More room on floorboard.
