Yes, you can either buy a new console that is longer or do what I did and buy a piece to fit in between. It looks good too.

There IS a Sundowner for the touring bikes 51542-01A that does not need the extra piece, but the RK ones seem to be a lot more common. I don't know if it fits the 06 and up.

Ditto what he said Get the one for an Ultra and forget the console extension

Theres another reason to come to the board instead of trust the dealer. He didn't tell me that part. I can't figure out who is more stupid me or the dealer? LOL

2006ultra, liltrk, kdietz,
Thanks for the reply's, only one problem I went to Surdyke's and entered the part number and it has been replaced by 51542-01B. Probably have to have the trim piece with the new part number, bummer. I would rather have one that fits without the trim piece.
Thanks,
capt42a

I was on a ride back in May that went through 11 states. Well I live in VA and was half way across Arkansas and my *** had caved in on my stock Road Glide seat. We were going to be in Oklahoma City the next day so I called OK City HD and they had a Sundowner in stock for my bike and could ship my stock one home for me so I stopped by there and swapped them out and it was a night and day difference the rest of the trip. My stock seat is still in the box they shipped it to me in. Last weekend we did 1635 miles in 4 days and that is the first trip like that my wife rode on and she never complained about her butt once. I'm sold on the Sundowner!!!!!!!

I bought a 51542-01B last week for my '06 Ultra and it doesn't have the trim piece. The seats with trim piece fit Road Kings.

You'll enjoy it when you get it.

I had a sundowner on my road king and loved it. I am just not sure about changing seats on my ultra, I already have the adjustable backrest on my bike will it still match the sundowner.
