I decided to get a sundowner today and just put it on. I guess just from sitting on it it's not quite what I expected. I doesn't feel any deeper than my stock seat. Almost the opposite? I will be taking it for a ride later to really test it. I guess I was hoping I would just fall in love with it when I sat in it. I didn't. I'll post later after a ride.
I put one on my '06 Ultra last week and had the same first impression.....back support didn't feel that great.....then I rode 2500 miles over 5 days and I wouldn't trade it for anything
I thought the same thing untill I rode all day and didn't get sore in the least. Even my wife rides all day on the back and that's a miracle. Stock seat on the SG and 75 miles was tops for her before the complaints started to roll in. I really love this seat and think you will to after a nice long ride. Won't be putting on the stock seat any time soon
I sat right down on mine and thought (what a waste of money!!!) It was raining out for 2 days and I was pissed that I spent the $ and probably no better then stock. However, you put some time in the saddle it does make a difference.
You won't have to worry about the rain much longer I'm sure Iowa will turn that rain into snow way to soon.
How does the Sundowner seat fit compared to the stock Road Glide seat? I have a 00 Standard and that seat offers a lot more low back support than the seat on my 07 Street Glide. The SG allows you to move back farther but there is no low back support. Does the Sundowner seat move you forward from the stock SG seat?

In my case it actually seemed to allow me to move back some. The Sundowner Solo is a totally different deal though and pushes you forward but the 2 up is very roomy.
And yes you have to put on some miles to really appreciate the difference this seats makes.
I have and love my C&C seat for solo and local rides but slip on the Sundowner when two-up for rides longer than an hour.
I have the Sundowner on my Deuce and it is great. I also have an Ultra and bought a Mustang seat for it thinking it would be even better. Big mistake, I can not stand the Mustang, 40 miles and it's killing me. Get the Sundowner.
