I read some where that you can use a mustang riders back rest on a stock Harley seat.
Does anyone know if this is true? Will it fit on the new style seats like my FLTRU has?
Had a cheap back rest on my Heritage and I loved it.
Enquiring minds want to know....
I'm using the Mustang backrest on a HD Sundowner right now. I've also used it on a stock Ultra seat and the stock Road Glide seat with no problems at all.
The Mustang seat has the back rest support made into the seat, so it won't work with a stock Harley seat. I have an adjustable back rest that came off my 05 EGC and it fit better on my 10 than the one made for it. Had to fab one small L bracket and it worked perfect.
WOW! I guess I was wrong about it fitting. You posted while I was typeing and didn't see it. Learn something new every day. Some times twice a day.

How is the bottom / support piece mounted on your bike / seat?
I've used a mustang backrest with the stock SG seat, stock ultra seat, and the sundowner. The top of the mounting bracket tends to stick out a bit with the stock SG seat, but no issues at all with the sundowner or ultra seat.
