Default Difference in a UC

Hi, This is probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between the Electra Glide Classic and the Ultra Classic? By pictures they look the same.

I found an 08 Ultra Classic(FLHTCU) with 5k miles for $15000.00. It's about $4k under KBB. Does that sound like a deal?

Thanks

excellent deal if there are no issues, Some will say opt for the '09 and up frame, in my opinion, not worth the extra bucks. I ride an '03UC with no handling or control issues. As to differences, the Uc has rear speaker pods, CB (maybe some other radio differences) and cruise. Also lowers, not sure if the EGC has them.

That sounds like a really good deal.

As far as differences between them - lower fairing, CB, intercom, rear speakers, rear lights on the tour-pak, cruise control standard, tour-pak liner, and probably a few others. The Ultra option is well worth the difference. I turned my -08 Classic into an Ultra and it was way more expensive than buying an Ultra in the first place.

Thanks for the help. What are the major differences in the 09s and up?

I've had both and the Ultra is way more bike for the money than the Classic. I would also opt for an 09 or newer. Frame is much nicer. Bigger rear tire with almost twice the mileage. Better use of 6th gear. Less heat! Go for an 09 or newer Ultra Classic. You won't be sorry. JMO

It kinda depends on if you like all the crap on the Ultra. Personally I didn't want a CB, didn't want rear speakers, I never listen to the radio, didn't want lowers and a few other things I didn't. My Classic already had cruise and ABS added at the factory so that's really all I wanted. Plus I got a great deal on the EGC over the Ultra. My dealer just closed one of their stores so they had a lot of duplicate inventory. Bought the 2010 EGC with ABS and Cruise for $19,500. They list for $19k so I got cruise and ABS for $500. The pin striping is different on the bikes too if you haven't noticed and the tank badge instead of a decal.

That probably is a good deal, because I wouldn't sell mine for that. ;-)

On the '07 UC mine had CB, intercom, different paint scheme, cruise control, lighted tour pack, speakers in tour pack liner (4 speakers total), saddle bag liners, headset, lower fairings, and badges on tank. I think that was all the differences. There were enough that it made sense to me to spring for the Ultra at the time. :-)
