Default Will I get ticketed in CA?

I am planning next years road trip and trailering the bikes to CA to ride them up and down the coast is one of my options - I was wondering, with CA's strict EPA related regulations, will I get ticketed for my bike not meeting their standard's? I have a 2000 RKC with stage 1 and hope to have my dresser duals by then - and, if so, can I be ticketed more than once on our trip or will the one be the max with a stipulation I have a certain amount of time to comply? What is the cost of the ticket?

If a ticket is probable, then I will just consider renting.

I've ridden choppers all over CA w/out blinkers, horns, front fenders, straight drag pipes etc... Never got a ticket never pulled over. My FLHX is similar to yours and so are 90% of the rest of them.
Could you get ticket Yes.
Will you most likely Not.

I wouldn't think so if your bike is not registered in CA. A lot of tourist vehicles pass in and out of CA and working smog on them would seem to be counter productive. Then again, who said CA was logical? (Just glad I made it out ahead of the rush.)

No. Law only applies to bikes 2013 and newer. But there are a lot of loud bikes in CA and you wont get messed with if you are not obnoxious about it.

Take it from someone in California...you will be fine with a stage one. No need to worry at all.

I've been a LOE in California for over 24 years. I doubt you'll get a ticket and don't worry about it. If you do get a ticket, keep it with you. You can only be ticketed once, and it's a fix-it ticket, not a moving violation. As far as the EPA, and more importantly CARB, bikes are not yet inspected in California. It's only cars and trucks 1975 and newer.
