Default Docking Hardware Install

I got ambishous this morning and I installed my quick disconnect for my TP. it was easy enough, but looked unfinished. I thought why would HD leave one of their products unfinished? As I packed the stock parts away I thought about the original chrome that covered the mounting points of the original TP bracket and had this brain storm.I took the covers and layed them out to where the docking hardware had to go through and drilled them so I could retain some of the fit and finish I have come to expect. I made a few rubber spacers out of 5/8" heater hose and a few garden hose washers for spacers and IMO it made a much cleaner install.

HD sells chrome magnetic caps for that, I have a set, they work good and cover the entire docking point

I was unaware that they had the caps that covered the frame rails, oh well kept me out of trouble.....

My kit came with replacement rails with holes in the right places...53246-09a

I would have been just as happy to pay less and get a paper template marking where to drill holes in my existing rails.
