Default Looking for help

Hello,
I have purchased my first bike ever a 2010 flhx. have stock pipes and air cleaner on it and I am looking at changing this winter have decided to go with the v & h pro-pipe hi output. but the air cleaner i am still up in the air on which one to get. i also have no clue what a fuel pak would do or a sert too. would those help me and how? i have read some other forums about dyno of the bike by the dealers vs other places. this my first bike as stated before i want to make the best decision for my bike and its bright future.
Thanks in advance hope to hear from you soon.

You're going to get a lot of opinions on this one. The Fuel Pak, PC-V, is an add-on device. Some say it "tricks" the ecm, a lot of people swear by them. The SERT is the HD option, it allows the tuner to reprogram the ECM. It marries to the on-board computer, is used during the tuning process and doesn't remain on the bike. Once you've used it on your bike, it will only work with your bike. Pros and cons to both solutions, do your homework.

I had the pro pipe on my last bike and was really pleased with it. Used the SERT and had the Stage II upgrade with the 255 cams. A lot of opinions on that too, but I was pleased with the results. Traded the bike for an FLTRX. Just running the Nightstick for now, and gave the ventilator a/c on order. Will probably change out the pipes when I go for the Stage II on this bike. For now, I'm real happy with the bike the way it is.

Give Fuel Moto a call and they will hook you up with everything you need. I went with the SE stage 1 air cleaner and the Powercommander V for the tuner (Fuel Moto provides the appropriate map pre-loaded in the unit when you order). They are great to work with, are sponsors here, good prices, and excellent service.

the most common concern...here's what I did- and so far happy with the result. this is my 5th Harley, the others were 1953, 1988, 1953, 1995- now 2009.

I went with the Ness Big Sucker air cleaner - I like the washable filter better than the Harley kit. I got the Chrome backing plate- 1. it looks better at the head bolts, 2. the back of the plate wipes clean easier than the black or grey. Ebay "easternpc" $115 shipped

I use Supertrapp slip on mufflers on most of my bikes- so i did that.

tuning: after looking the tuner options and the unending pleas for help on the tech boards here,
I went with the XIEDS at Nightrider.com

$120 and they work fine, reversible and no problems. They have solved a persistent ping I had at 2800 rpm with the stock air cleaner and pipes, and with the Ness and Supertrapps.

Take a look at this video link in my signature. You'll see the V&H dresser duals and Arlen Ness Big Sucker AC. I used the TTS Mastertune which is made by the same company that makes the HD tuner. It is a DIY install and ECM reprogram.

Here's a video of the TTS. I didn't get mine from Kuryakyn but found it at an Ebay store for $429 with cables.
