Default Removing gauges from fairing???

Can someone tell me how the gauges are removed from the fairing? I'm looking to tear it down to paint.

It is easy. once you get the fairing off it is pretty self explainitory. when I did mine I color coded the connections but really they can only go in one way. I found it was easier to remove the gauges after the inner fairing was removed and easier to install the gauges back in the inner fairing before installing it.

Default gauge removal

1. Buy service manual
2. Read service manual section relating to the faring

3. It is really not that hard after the outer faring is removed, the gauges are the easiest pieces to get out! (2 nuts. and the wiring connectors on each gauge) There are far more complicated things that need to be removed. For example to remove the lower faring cap the ignition switch needs to be removed this is where the majority of people run into problems. It comes out easy but sometimes going back is VERY difficult.

I just finished putting mine back together. Make sure you label the wires to the gauges as the can plug into any gauge. I also switched the tach and speedo location as I was always watching the speedo as the tach when beating on my bike. most cars are on the left.

I also painted my uppers and the chrome plate under the fairing. pics in my garage. Now I need chrome lowers I will be going with Arlen Ness Hot Legs
