Use Blue-tooth earphones or Wi-Fi enabled devices, use as a head-unit with streaming audio like Sirius/XM or Rhapsody , there is NO LIMIT.
The docking location provides convenience never before seen in a "Phone Holder" iPhone and iPod touch both utilize "flash" memory, which is not susceptible to vibration like older "disc storage" methods. It is the best technology to use on a motorcycle.
When I called them a few weeks ago I was told it does not charge the phone. If I have spoke incorrectly, my apologies. I can only go on what they told me.

The HD unit is kinda cool - BUT you have to take eyes off the road too much when locating tracks on the ipod ( I test rode the CVO).
2. I use my ipod all the time and find it handy to have it in my line of sight when making adjustments. Having it in my fairing pouch is pretty good for that.
3. I tried a mount on the dash, and had glare problems.
I'll save the $400 for some awesome live to ride covers!
