Default what is ?

What is considered a large displacement engine?

the reason I ask is that I just did a static compression test and I'm at 171 front jug and 174 on the back. From what i read on andrews site I might have some pinging issues with that compression ( on a large displacement motor ). My motor is a 95''. what do ya think ?

I could be totally wrong, but from what I've read/heard, "big bore" is 105+ CI.
I've also heard the 103 kit referred to as a big bore as well, but I've seen the impression of that being the top end of the "not big bore" more so.

This is hard to answer to many variables. They tell me that 9-1 up to 9.5-1 will work great and your cam has alot to do with corrected compression static will be higher and those numbers to me look ok maybe low.I have around 9.3-1 corrected compression and 187 lb of cranking compression in a 103".Check out this site and go to twin cam them calculators. just put in some numbers to get ideas. bigboyzheadporting

Thanks ! I went to the bigboyz site and went through the calculator. I got a cold crank at 168 ( close to actual test ) at 7000'. My corrected compression is 9.94.1. But at sea level the cold crank goes up to 210. I do have compression relieses but will I have performance problems when I leave my high country for the coast ?
