Local dealer has a price over list for a 2011 Limited but includes 3 yrs or 10,000 mile regular service free including tires and battery if needed. What do you guys think the 10,000 mile service plan should be worth?
Big issue is the fine print- will it be voided if you change your pipes or do any of the things that we riders do?
- and doesn't the bike already have the first 2 years covered by the factory...so what are they really offering?
3 gallons of oil, 3 filters and maybe 2 tires?

It depends on your particular dealer. Most dealers think that a warranty belongs in the "fiction" section of the library.......
I don't think they are talking about warranty here, but service instead. Find out how much they charge for 1k, 5k, and 10k service. Then figure the price of a set of tires and battery if needed and you would have the rough value.
are they talking about doing services at the book interval or every 2500 miles? if its every 2500 you are looking at a max of 5 services (including the 1k).
if you don't ride super hard, you won't wear a tire out in 10k. on my 07, i would get just at 10k on a rear tire, on my 10, with the new compound in the tire, i'm at 12k (had the bike since march) now and will probably get another 3-5 before i even have to start thinking about replacing it. i guess it would be good for the road hazard.
battery? very few batteries die in the first year
so how much over list are they asking, how badly do you want the bike, and can you waive the service contract?
Asking $1000 over list for a black Limited. I do not think Stage 1 type mods affect it but will ask. Thinking if they will come down into the $500 range its about a break even plan. I'll also check the fine print closer.
In the auto sales industry this is called a dealer "pack". They add in dealer installed items that they make a ton of money on...actually even put a second dealer sticker on the vehicle with the additions and the new retail price that ends up being over MSRP.
Sounds like your dealer is trying to do something similar by adding the service plan (I agree it sounds like dealer service and not the extended service plan from HD) into the price of the bike and burying it instead of offering it to you via the finance guy after the deal is written. If it doesn't make sense financially to you then just tell him you don't want it. When my dealer offered a similar plan it was around $2k...included all maintenance, 1 set of tires, one battery, but it was through 20k miles. He should take at least a grand off the price if not more.
