The other day i replaced a 15Amp fuse(lights) with the spare 15Amp fuse.Realized i didnt have to and replaced the spare back.I then noticed the prong was broken on the spare after i put it back.Removed the prong and all is well.I thought! the next day bike would not start.Acted like it would turn over but no dice. Any ideas what could of happened.I'm assuming something in the fuse box? I had checked all the fuses putting them back in their place as i went along checking.Could use the help.thanks
I hate electrical problems but usually try the KISS method. Is it possible your engine kill switch is in the off position? Have you checked your battery voltage? Too early for my brain to be working much harder....
I always like to check / recheck any recent work I have done to try to find source of electrical problems. For example - if you recently replaced the bars, check for shorts caused by pinched wires in the switch housings. If you have not done anything to the bike lately, and the problem has just cropped up out of nowhere, check battery. Check battery connections. Check ground connections. Simple stuff first.
I think you've blown another fuse getting the prong out. There are a couple fuses under the right side cover also. Always go back to last thing you were working on. Does your engine light come on and your fuel pump work, I guess it does since you state it tries ( or does it) to turn over. Try pulling the relays and reseating them also.
The prong that was broke was on the spare fuse. After thinking about it for awhile since whats happening sounds like im not getting fuel.I wonder if maybe when i was taking off the side panel to get at the fuse box if i inadvertantly loosened the fuel line under the tank.I'm going to check this when ever i get home. One of the harley techs i know told me that sometimes they can get loose.I just need to unconnect it and reconnect in place.we'll see
